Vintner Notes

This is a wine which Winston Churchill would have been drinking whilst insulting Hitler or some pandering moron. The wine is dark and rich and is not for the faint of heart, if you are looking for a light table wine, go away, quickly...this is wine for drinking, eating and making love. The 2018 is a monolithic year that must be given a great deal of respect. It was a beautiful vintage, one of my happiest and maybe my happiest ever. I smile when I think of the 2018 and just keep smiling.

Robert Parker 96.Jayson Woodbridge calls this a “21st Century Claret.” The blend is mainly Cabernet Sauvignon with a good dollop of Merlot and a dash of Petite Sirah. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon The Diplomat comes skipping out with bright notes of Morello cherries, mulberries, and black raspberries, over a profound core of warm cassis, hoisin and blackberry pie, with wafts of licorice and unsmoked cigars. The generous, full-bodied palate is soft and plush, featuring a powerful black fruit core with a lively backbone and loads of layers on the earthy finish.
