Given our beloved Blacksburg locale, our whiskey takeover will have a slant towards celebrating all things Appalachian, including live entertainment from the New Standard Bluegrass Band! .

On Friday February 23, the Wine Lab will be closing at 8:59PM, and the Whiskey Tavern Takeover opens promptly one minute later at 9PM! After a succinct sermon from the Professor extolling the virtues and history of the Uisge Baugh (water of life), the band will start at 10PM, and the fun will flow until 1AM…or perhaps earlier if we run out of whiskey, which of course will never happen!
As for the whiskey itself: Our bartenders will be featuring an array of awesome whiskey cocktails made just for the occasion, along with an expanded selection of whiskey sampler flights from around the world! Add to that, a hand-crafted menu of bourbon-inspired bar snacks, alongside heartier specialized sustenance of our region.
And we will also play host to our favorite local producer: Jayson Hudson of J. H. Bards Spirit Co. will be here to provide table-side service to answer all your whiskey questions to anyone ordering up a J.H. Bards flight…think local, drink local!
